Several hundred guests attended, including more than 80 Envigo Beagles and their families, creating one of the largest known gatherings of rescued Envigo Beagles following the national rescue effort.
Robust media coverage extended the story beyond the event itself while highlighting Anderson Humane’s role in one of the nation’s largest animal rescue operations and showcasing the successful outcomes achieved through rescue, rehabilitation, foster care, and adoption.
The reunion strengthened relationships among adopters, supporters, volunteers, and strategic partners while creating meaningful opportunities for storytelling, community engagement, and mission visibility.
By transforming a nationally recognized rescue into a celebration of resilience and recovery, the event demonstrated the lasting impact of collaborative partnerships and reinforced the organization’s connection to the families, supporters, and community members who made those outcomes possible.
Following the national rescue of more than 4,000 Beagles from the Envigo breeding facility in Virginia, public interest remained high regarding both the rescue effort and the long-term recovery of the dogs involved.
Strategic partner Brilliance Subaru approached the organization with an opportunity to create a community event celebrating the rescued dogs and the families who had adopted them.
Having welcomed 166 Envigo Beagles into care, Anderson Humane identified an opportunity to extend the impact of the rescue beyond adoption by educating the public about large-scale rescue operations, strengthening relationships with adopters and supporters, and highlighting the collaborative partnerships that made the rescue possible.
The objective was to transform a nationally recognized rescue effort into a meaningful community engagement experience that celebrated resilience, recovery, and the power of partnership.
The experience was designed to celebrate successful adoption outcomes while educating attendees about the rescue, rehabilitation, foster, and adoption process that transformed the lives of the dogs involved.

More than an educational experience, the event served as a reunion for adopters and their dogs. Families reconnected, shared stories, and celebrated milestones achieved by Beagles who had overcome extraordinary circumstances.
Adopters received Humane Society genealogy records tracing family relationships among the rescued dogs and were invited to share their experiences from the Survivor’s Stage, where personal stories of resilience, healing, and second chances became the centerpiece of the day.
The event combined strategic partnership activation, storytelling, donor and adopter engagement, media outreach, and community participation to highlight the lasting impact of rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption.
